Market segmentation modeling is the commonly used statistical method to gain insight into a company’s customers’ needs and wants in order to effectively market-n-sell customers. A customer database assuredly consists of heterogeneous segments. The issue of determining the set of segments is addressed by conducting a cluster analysis of a customer database. Once the cluster analysis, commonly known as market segmentation modeling, uncovers the segments, the next step is to understand the nature of the segments (clusters). The purpose of this cursory article is to present an easy way to understand the segments in order to develop effective marketing strategies against the customers within segments and across segments.
